Mustard in cookies? YES because it intensifies the spices and makes a beautiful smooth dough, what best for flavourful biscuits this holiday season

  • 280 grams all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 170 grams butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon Maille Dijon Mustard with Honey
  • 170 grams sugar
  • 1 egg
  1. In a deep bowl mix the butter, sugar and mustard with a hand mixer until light and fluffy
  2. In a separate bowl mix the flour. spices and baking powder
  3. Add the flour mixture to the batter and fold until just incorporated
  4. Roll out with a rolling pin to about 1 inch thickness for crispy cookies or thicker for crunchier.
  5. Add the egg yolk to a small bowl and mix with 4 drops of water and mix well.
  6. Cut out in desired shapes and brush with the egg mix
  7. Place on baking paper lined baking sheets and bake in batches in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes
