Savory waffle


Most foodies would have received a home waffle maker at some Christmas in their lifetime! So here is a recipe for the batter and what we used to top our waffles with, you can use all 4 or choose one and multiple the ingredients by 4.


Ingredients

  • 250gr self-rising flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 50gr grated cheese
  • 250ml milk
  • 100gr butter, melted
  • 3 eggs

Preparation for the pancakes

  1. Put the flour and baking powder in a bowl, slowly add the milk and mix well
  2. Add the eggs while stirring, add the butter and cheese and mix well
  3. Bake waffles in a waffle machine
  4. Add the toppings on the waffles

Toppings per segment
Segment 1

  1. 50gr slightly pan-fried spinach
  2. 50gr sliced, smoked salmon
  3. 1 teaspoon Maille Dijon originale mustard

Segment 2

  1. 50 g Hummus mixed with 1 teaspoon of Maille Dijon original mustard to smear on the base
  2. 5gr crispy kale
  3. 1 small green tomato
  4. 1 teaspoon Maille Dijon originale mustard

Segment 3

  1. ½ sliced avocado
  2. 2 roasted broccolini stems
  3. 2 quail, pan-fried eggs
  4. 1 teaspoon Maille Dijon originale mustard

Segment 4

  1. 40gr Greek yogurt mixed with 1 teaspoon Maille Dijon originale mustard to smear on the base
  2. 2 slices grilled zucchini
  3. 2 Red cabbage leaves
  4. 1 teaspoon Maille Dijon originale mustard for the top.
